House of flies: The grey lady cameo.

My love for vintage and vintage inspired jewellery sent me snooping around in the blogging world once again. With the discovery of 'Pretty Cherished' (http://prettycherished.blogspot.com) my quest didn't last very long. I found Pretty Cherished after another blogger mentioned them in a blogpost (sorry, cannot remember the blogger's name!) and fell in love with most of their jewellery as soon as I landed on their blogspot as they have some really very unusual and beautiful pieces. Instantly, I decided to make a purchase! I could easily have bought loads of jewellery from them but in the end I settled on a lovely grey lady cameo necklace. My parcel arrived within a few working days, and oh my, the packaging was so adorable and well thought out that I couldn't wait to see inside!

I love it! Now a regular on my neck, I find this necklace to be different from my other cameo jewellery which I am very pleased about. Great product, service and communication!

P.S. I have been closely eyeing out The Inspiration Collection by Pretty Cherished. I think the 'imagine' necklace is probably going to end up on my list of jewellery wants too :)

Heres a shot:

House of flies: The strawberry fever.

I have a somewhat big (healthy) obsession with taking pictures of food, sounds pretty awful I know, but over the years the obsession has got bigger (food diary has expanded enormously!) and better, better because it has pushed me to start 'wearing' food aswell as taking pictures of them too. I popped into Accessorize (again) not so long ago and being the statement I am I decided to buy a pendant that was quirky and could satisfy my strange obsession with taking pictures of food on the same level. Accessorize have released a palace full of pretty pendants and whilst browsing through piles of some very awesome ones, I finally settled for this cute little strawberry pendant which looked good enough to dip in a chocolate fountain and eat.
Red strawberry pendant (RRP £5.00).

Firstly, I love how food seems to be taking over the jewellery world at the moment, especially with celebs endorsing more and more vintage inspired, Kitsch and fruity food related jewellery, jewellery of this kind now looks much more mainstream, contemporary, statement-ish, wearable and trendy and is no longer subjected to its stereotypical gestures.

This particular necklace is so unusually eye-catching that wearing it on its own is enough to make a full on statement. However, teaming it with other necklaces/pendants both long or short will still give it its own individual space and charm on your neck. If worn alone, I'll suggest accompany it with only one large jewellery item (for instance, a big bangle or large chandelier earrings) and keep other accessories minimal especially if you want your strawberry pendant to do the talking. Overall this strawberry pendant looks yummy enough to make a perfect dessert.

These are the matching red strawberry earrings that go with the strawberry pendant. Hmmm, might have to grab these next!
Red strawberry short drop earrings (RRP £6.00).

Cute enamel cupcake stud earrings (RRP £5.00).
Novelty pink strawberry short drop earrings (RRP £4.00).
An apple a day red plastic ring (RRP £5.00).

Illamasqua: My night creature has lies written all over it.

Lately I have done many posts showing my love and appreciation for jewellery I either own or would like to own. So when I received my Illamasqua order the other day I knew that it was just as worth blogging about too. I like shimmery cheeks and have been yearning for a product like this.
Illamasqua cream blusher in Lies (RRP £16.00).

Firstly, I was really impressed with the packaging, Illamasqua took great care with the proper shipment of the product and also added a product guide with the cream blusher. I no longer felt upset by the extra little bit I had to pay for p&p!

Lies is a pearlescent cool pink which leaves a dewy finish. Great for highlighting your cheekbones, brow bones and for shaping your face. The cream blusher is buildable and can be easily blended using your fingers or a brush to create the desired colour intensity. Can be used over foundation for impact or beneath for a captivating glow.

I love Illamasqua products as they are perfect for using when I'm in need of satisfying my dark side i.e. my alter ego (yes, I'm into very much all things vampires, dark, gloomy and underground; I'm a metalhead, what did you expect! :P). I am hoping to buy more from them in the future.

Any products by Illamasqua which you could recommend to me?

House of flies: The camera with a coral flash.

I have to say I have always been very much impressed with jewellery from Topshop but lately I have found myself shopping there for such items more than usual. So when I came across this lovely piece on their website I found myself smiling once again.
An adjustable coral leather camera ring by Freedom at Topshop (RRP £10.00).

I like anything that makes a statement in one way or another, and this ring is a perfect example of bringing that out in anybody, even those who decide to refrain from such things. A perfect piece for both camera and non camera lovers. The coral leather, vintage look and diamanté detail makes the ring suitable for both daywear and nightwear. Use it to accompany an already cheerful Spring/Summer or as an object of brightness in Autumn/Winter. Multifunctionality surely makes this ring one of a kind to never go out of season.

House of flies: Miaow!

I was so excited this morning as the postman handed over an envelope which had Tatty Devine etched all over it. I have been anxiously awaiting this particular parcel as it carries my acrylic pink cat ring. As soon as I opened it I was over the moon with my purchase. I cannot wait to prettify my paws with this pussycat ring. A cute silhouette with ears and whiskers to give any girl cat power!
The ring comes in three different sizes and is classed as one of the Best Of Tatty Devine! I bought size small as I have tiny fingers, see measurements below for the diameter of the inner hole for the different sizes.

Diameter of hole:
Small - 16mm
Medium - 17mm
Large - 18mm
